So it’s critical that people of all backgrounds and abilities are able to find, access, and understand our web content. In this presentation, you’ll learn the key principles to creating content that is useful, usable, and accessible to all. We will discuss techniques including plain language, heading structure, content prioritization, meaningful links, alternative text, and more.

Workshop: Writing for the Web

People come to websites to complete tasks and get answers to questions. In this workshop, you will practice writing content with users in mind. Through guided exercises, attendees will:

• Define their website’s audience and primary tasks
• Outline content that puts users’ needs and expectations first
• Draft content that is useful, usable, accessible, and findable
