Break Down Silos and Scale Impact with Research Operations
March 7 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am
$200Rebecca Blakiston and Fan Huang present at Service Design in Government, a virtual conference out of Scotland for anyone involved in designing, delivering, and commissioning public services.
Research Operations (ResOps) is well known for providing research tools, establishing research governance, and setting standardized procedures. For large organizations, however, ResOps can go even further, helping to break down information silos, allowing researched information to move across an organization in the same way that IT infrastructure enables information to move across a network.
Approaching ResOps through the lens of IT infrastructure allows us to design research infrastructures that make research accessible and scalable in government.
This presentation will bring practical approaches to the large-scale research and service design most common to government agencies. User research in government requires a greater level of systems thinking, so we will acknowledge the challenges of that complexity and how particular approaches to ResOps can meet that challenge.
Participant takeaways:
- Practical approaches to large-scale research
- How ResOps can enable research to move across an organisation
- Designing research infrastructure to actively aid effective service design
